How Does CBD work?

This is one of the most popular questions I seem to get from clients. In my opinion, CBD is great and can help in certain situations. It’s not a magic potion. It doesn't act like Icy Hot or Tiger Balm. It won’t numb the area or help Grandpa Joe as much as a golden ticket. It works behind the scenes by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system, a network of receptors found throughout the body that help regulate a variety of functions such as sleep, pain, and immune system response.

When CBD is applied topically, it can interact with cannabinoid receptors in the skin, activating the endocannabinoid system and potentially providing relief for a variety of skin conditions and other types of pain. It is important to note that while CBD may have potential benefits, more research is needed to fully understand how it works and whether it is effective. Additionally, it is always important to speak with a healthcare professional before using any new product, especially if you have a medical condition or are taking any medications.

While my clients have not reported immediate pain relief, per say, it does seem to help relax overly tight muscles and provide the ability to work the muscles a little deeper.

Taking CBD orally will affect the body in a different way, as the CBD will go into the bloodstream and travel up to the brain and to other receptors throughout the body. Taking it orally would have more of an effect on sleep and immune function. Applying it locally to the skin generally only effects the area where it is applied, as it does not necessarily enter the blood stream, but rather attaches to the receptors in the skin as mentioned above.

If you want to give CBD massage oil on your next visit, please let me know. I use Lazarus Naturals full spectrum products.
