What to expect on your first appointment

One thing AI CAN’T do is give you the best massage ever.

As a new client, you may be curious about what to expect during your first session with a mobile massage therapist. It's understandable to have concerns and questions, especially if you are accustomed to massages at a spa or wellness center. This blog post will walk you through step-by-step what to expect from arrival to departure, so you can better prepare for a relaxing and rejuvenating first experience, and hopefully your best massage ever!

Arrival and Check-In: When I arrive, I'll need a few minutes to set up my equipment in your desired location. I will likely arrive ten minutes early to allow for setup time. I'll text you my ETA about a half hour before. After the table is set up, we will discuss your client intake form and review your areas of concern, any allergies, and any other medical conditions that could impact your massage.

Consultation and Goal Setting: We will set our intention for the session by talking about the areas you want to focus on during your massage and what type of pressure you prefer. I'll discuss my plan for the session and ensure you are on board with the process.

Preparation: Once the consultation is complete, I will step out to wash up while you undress to your level of comfort. You'll then get on the table under the sheets and we'll be ready to go. You will always be covered except for the area that is worked on ensuring that you feel covered and protected.

The Massage: During the session, I will use various techniques to address your areas of concern and work towards the goal set at the consultation. Some massage techniques might include Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, dynamic cupping, vibration therapy, and more. I'll check in with you throughout the massage to ensure you are comfortable with the pressure and that they are addressing your areas of concern. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or want to adjust something, just let me know.

Post-Massage: After your massage is complete, take a few moments to relax and soak up the relaxation. I'll leave the room, allowing you to time to recoup and get dressed. We'll conclude by chatting about the session, things you liked/disliked, and make a plan for future sessions, or things you can do on your own to help.
